Be the heart of a Sussex village
Run Hurstpierpoint branch, surrounded by local amenities that keep footfall in the area
This quaint West Sussex village sits on the cusp of the South Downs, with a loyal population eager to support its local Post Office branch.
There’s currently an opportunity to take on the running of Hurstpierpoint Post Office. The prospective business-owner could take over the branch in its existing location, or introduce Post Office services to their own business.
Outgoing postmaster Paul Baxter has established the branch as a key location in the village for both Post Office products and retail.
"Mails are our most popular products and we have eight online eBay sellers who are really keen to support their local branch by using us regularly for sending packages," said Paul.
"We’ve recently seen a growth in online click and collect and returns that is only going to continue improving.
"Other customers often use the branch as a place to withdraw cash for free or to buy foreign currency, making us a good destination for services they can’t get elsewhere."
The village benefits from a range of amenities, including cafes, hairdressers, grocers, bakeries and pubs.
"We have set ourselves apart as a retailer of cards, stationery and packaging, all of which offer value for money and draw customers from other nearby villages," said Paul.
"It’s a thriving area with plenty of opportunities to grow a business."
Introducing Post Office services to their arts and crafts shop has transformed business for Nick and Wendy Horler.
